The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:4-9

Our family is a circle of strength and love, with every birth and every union, the circle will grow, every joy shared adds more love, every crisis faced together, makes the circle stronger

tryin to catch up.....

It has been quite some time since I have posted. I was without my computer for around a week due to a virus that we couldnt remove and have been trying to play catch up since getting it back on Tuesday. We have been busy busy around here, I know thats why it makes the holidays seem to go by so fast and wish that we could just slow down and enjoy it all for a little longer. I guess that is just the way it goes!! Between basketball and all of the holiday hustle and bustle....

I love love Christmas, it is my FAVORITE!! I love hearing Sam talk about baby Jesus and telling me the Christmas story!! We have been reading a book called What God wants for Christmas this week, for 7 days you read a short story about each person in the nativity scene and after the story there is a box to open. Day 1 was angel gabriel, day 2 was Mary, Day 3 was Joseph, Day 4 baby Jesus, and tonight Day 5 was the sheperd, Day 6 tomorrow will be the wise men and the last day 7 will be what God wants for Christmas and when you open the box there is a little mirror inside so that you see yourself.... What God wants for Christmas is YOU!! Sam has been so excited every night to add to his own little nativity scene and to see what is next. Its a great little tradition that we started last year.

Today was Sams school Christmas party. I had a great time making these little Santa cookies for his class and enjoyed being at school with him and seeing all of his Christmas crafts he's been making.

Tonight we made more Christmas cookies at home and Sam LOVED IT!! He had a great time making the reindeer cookies and I have to say I had a great time doing it with him!

Hope everyone is enjoying their last week before Christmas is actually here.... getting all the shopping done, getting prepared for all the family get togethers and meals.... but dont forget the true reason for the season. Thank you God for your precious son Jesus as we prepare to celebrate his birth next week. MeRrY ChRiStMaS!!!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

This past Friday night after we got home from Sam's b-ball game he made up his mind he was ready for his wiggly tooth to come out and have a visit from the tooth fairy! Keep in mind this was his very first loose tooth!! The tooth had gotten very loose over the last week and I kept telling him every day to just let me pull it on out. Well he still didnt want me to pull it but he sat in the recliner with me and let me wiggle it back and forth until it FINALLY came out, took about 30 minutes. Bless his little heart he was so nervous!
You can tell that by the look on his face when you see the pics below. He saw the blood and that really scared him... "oh no mom im bleeding"!! Once it was out and he calmed down he was SO excited!! He said "mom i'm growing up".... um yes honey you are and its breaking my heart!!
So after all the excitement he writes the tooth fairy a little note and off to bed we go.... until we get the tooth under the extra pillow in his bed and he is laying all the way on the other side of the bed, i mean the very edge.... scared to death of the tooth fairy coming in his room! I tryed to talk to him about it but he was not having it! So we ended up putting it on a pillow outside of his bedroom door in the floor.... when he awoke to $3 from the tooth fairy the look on his face was priceless! not to mention we had snow outside too!!(pics to come)
What memories! I think he looks too stinkin cute with that snaggled tooth grin but just another milestone of growing up..... wish i could just slow it down just a little! and now the other tooth beside it is ever so slightly loose, so he has been singin all i want for christmas is my two front teeth=)

just right after i wiggled that tooth on out of there!
he looks like im really hurting him, bless his heart
he was SO scared, just not knowing what to expect!
me trying to love on him and tell him it was gonna be ok

showing off his tooth

yea!!

Happy Thanksgiving & Roll Tide

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day tomorrow. Enjoy time with family and friends and all the yummy food! I cant wait to eat some of my MawMaw's dressing, it is the B.E.S.T

This November we started a new tradition... a thankful paper chain... most every night we each had to share something we were thankful for and write on a little slip of paper. I dated each day and plan on saving this for us to look back on in the years to come!! (thanks Joy for the idea from your thankful tree)

I was very proud of some of the things Sam thought of on his own that he was thankful for as you can see a few of them here....

It was a great thing for each of us to do to make us really think about all that we have to be thankful for! I am so Thankful for all of my MANY Blessings!!

Another yearly tradition is of course we have to watch A Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving tonight!!

Friday I am looking forward to shopping EaRlY in the morning and hopefully finding some great bargains and then watching the Iron Bowl...

Roll Tide Roll!!

Very Random.... what have we been up to?

It has been a while since a post but we have been busy busy around here. Basketball, getting ready for Thanksgiving, a little photography/editing, and just enjoying family time!!

I will start off by sharing a few of our new family pics that I took, yes you read that right, I took them. It all started by a friend asking me if I would take a few pics of her and family up on monte sano in hopes of getting a good one for christmas cards. They turned out so good that I decided we would give it a try as well only I would be taking them and in the pictures as well =)
Set up the tripod, focusing in on Chad and Sam, set the timer, run over and get in the picture....
It was pretty funny, Im just glad there wasnt hardly anyone else up there because I know they would have gotten a kick out of it to say the least! Anyways, thought they turned out pretty good. I love photography and had a great time editing and playing around with these. I have had several people asking me if I would take some of their family so I dont know where this may lead but we shall see. Let me know what you think about our pics!!

Had fun making these cute little turkey cookies for Sam's class last week for Thanksgiving!!

Meridianville Eagles had their first basketball game this weekend and it was SO much fun to watch!! It is most of the kids first season so some are still catching on . We actually won 36-5! Way to go!! Sam scored one goal and I was a proud Moma!! He did a great job dribbling the ball down the court and played great defense!! Looking forward to the rest of the season!! You may notice in the pics Sam has on athletic pants instead of his shorts.... leave it to my child to spill gatorade not to long after the game started all over himself!! It was OK, thankful we had the pants to put on!! Ahh.... fun times and what great memories =)

yea... im guarding ya!
hated this was blurry, but this was after he scored, it was priceless!
Way to go Eagles!!
Have also been trying to do a little Christmas decorating around here, my tree is up with lights on but not decorated yet... im gettin there!! Also started shopping this week to =) I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving this week and spending time with family!! I am so very thankful for all my family and friends, I am so BLESSED! Hope you all have a great week!
