Well yesterday was our day to see Dr Long with the ART program in Birmingham, you may remember he is the same Dr that helped us with concieving Sam.
I think that the appointment went well!! I first had to have some blood work done and exam by the nurse practicioner and then met with Dr Long. He feels like we should go down the same path we did with Sam and that all of this is still related to my condition PCOS(polycyctic ovarian disease), Follistim injections which is kinda the big guns for ovulation induction, (I have been on oral ovulation induction meds for 6 months, Letrizol, and its not doing the trick) then HCG and progesterone treatment and an IUI (intrauterine insemination). We plan to start all of this with my next cycle. I do have to return to B'ham on Monday for a HSG to check my fallopian tubes and make sure they arent blocked. This cycle I am still on the letrizol and we are going to do the HCG injection with this cycle. Who knows it could happen this month and maybe we wont even need the shots. This is all very pricy and unfortunately our insurance doesnt cover alot of it, but Chad and I both feel this is what we should do at this point and are willing to make the sacrafice.
I know above all of this that it is still in Gods hands, he is in complete control.
I did feel really positive yet overwhelmed after the appointment yesterday and I know I must continue to be faithful and patient! Thanks for all of your prayers, and I will continue to post as we continue our journey to be parents to another little one!!
