Where do I begin, its been a while since Ive really posted!!
I will start out with one of the happiest joyous announcements I could ever make!! Sam prayed to accept Jesus as his savior last week at VBS. He has asked alot of questions recently but after our first night of VBS he really began to question. We were in the car and he started off by saying "mommy I dont want to die in a car accident, i wanna go to heaven" Wow! I talked with him about it and we even met Chad for lunch that day so we could both talk with him about it. Explained to him we would let Pastor Paul also talk with him about it at church, Chad and I really wanted to make sure he was really ready and knew what he was doing. I mean he's my son, I think he's smart and understands, but wanted to make sure. He talked about it off on and on for 2 days. Monday night he was crying in the bathtub saying he needed to talk to pastor paul so he can go to heaven one day. So after VBS on Tues he went to our pastor and asked if he could talk to him..... in his office we go and my heart was racing you know that feeling you get when you get saved, I was feeling it right along with Sam. These are some the questions...
Pastor Paul: so Sam I hear there is something you need to talk to me about?
Sam: I wanna accept Jesus into my heart...
Pastor Paul: Really, well do you know what that means??
Sam: I get to go to heaven!!
Pastor Paul: thats right, how do you know Jesus is real? you can see your daddy and your mommy so you know they are real.... but since you cant see Jesus how do you know he is real??
Sam: because he is in heaven and he died on the cross for my sins!!
There were several more questions and amazing answers and then...
Pastor Paul: Well I cant ask Jesus to come into your heart and daddy and mommy cant either, you have to do this... so we need to pray
Sam: Jesus please come in my heart and save me, ok pastor paul you finish...
and Pastor Paul finished the prayer!!
Wow, he was definitely ready, even though he's only 5. God was dealing with his little heart and it was absolutely AMAZING. Thank you God!!!!!!! What a blessing!
I never have to worry about it, my childs heart belongs to Jesus and I cant wait to see how he will grow and what God has in store for him!!
This past Sunday he went down in front of the church to let them know what he had done and a week from this Sunday he will be baptised!!
Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for I say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a child will by no means enter it. and he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them. Mark 10:14-16
We had an AWESOME VBS this year and I think there was at least 10 children who accepted Christ. Around 70 children were at VBS every night and you could just feel Gods presence. Our VBS theme was Summer Olympics, Pastor Paul would explain the importance of being on Gods team. There was lots of games played, bible verses memorized, penny offering every night (girls against boys to see who could bring the most pennies and then the money would help buy school supplies for kids in our community) and every night there was medals and ribbons given out. The last night there was an obstacle course with a mud pit and the kids thought that was the great est thing ever!! Sam had an awesome time and it will be a VBS I will never forget!
Think that is enough for now.... next post I will update where we stand with our infertility struggle. We have had a few Drs. appointments since I last updated and haven't received the greatest of news. More on that later for now some VBS pictures.
