The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:4-9

Our family is a circle of strength and love, with every birth and every union, the circle will grow, every joy shared adds more love, every crisis faced together, makes the circle stronger

Conversations with Sam

Last night after reading to Sam and his bedtime prayers he said "mommy i love you so much i wanna be with you forever" I gave him the biggest hug and told him how much I loved him and was thinking how sweet. Well he had more on his mind and I dont really know where it came from but he was full of questions.... I just explained to him that someday(long time from now!!) he will grow up and it would be time for him to have his own family and he would live in a different house from me and daddy. I explained how when I was little like him I lived with my mom who is his Granny Sue then I grew up, met daddy, and fell in love and here we are today. He got so upset that I wished at that moment I hadnt even explained it to him. His big hazel eyes filled up with tears and he said "mommy Im not moving to another house and Im gonna marry you someday" Awh........ my heart just melted!!!! I thought to myself treasure this moment with him because he sure wont remember this years from now but I sure will. Thats one reason I wanted to blog about it so it would be "written down somewhere". I told Chad if/when Sam gets to that point when he doesnt want me around Im gonna remind him of what he said when he was only 5 years old. I know right now I am the most important "gal" in his life but someday that will change. I pray that God will give him a Godly Christian wife (someday long time from now!!). But for now Im just enjoying it!! Little boys are just the sweetest moma's boys, such a special bond. If Im never able to have anymore children, I'm so thankful to have a little moma's boy!! As we continued to talk about it I finally just agreed with Sam and said yes baby you can live with me forever and ever!! He was ok after that. Then this morning on the way to school he said "mom, im not upset about movin out of our house someday cause Im gonna stay with you and dad forever" I couldnt believe it was still on his little mind. I just replied Ok Sam that is Just Fine with mommy :)

Don't those moments melt you heart?! My boys have gone through that same stage. One still says that he will live with me forever, while the other has decided that he can't live with me & be an Auburn football player. I just pray that they always love & LIKE us like they do right now =)

Oh Jennifer, God has a way of preparing you both for growing independence. It is really a good thing, you will be ready when the time comes and so will Sam. Just think, God is right now preparing a bride for little Sam. Pray for her daily, cause one day she will be the mother of your grandchildren.
You will always be his favorite, cause boys and moms have a really special bond. Blessings
